Happy September to all the high performers out there!
August has come and gone and, as a Canadian company, we understand that the later months in the year can be hard to adjust to. Really, the days do get shorter—whether that is because of the dreaded daylight savings, or because life tends to speed up. We get it. You’re visualizing what your life will look like in a couple of months, and progression of time can be challenging to approach. Whether you’ll be buried up to your armpits in your day-to-day duties, or in snow, just understand that we can all do hard things, and that “doing your best” means doing what is best for you.
We recognize that everyone’s “grind” is different. In our last newsletter, and in preparation for the back-to-school season, we focused on improving productivity and reducing burnout, and gave some tips on how to reset and recharge so you can effectively make the best out of whatever life throws your way.
This month we’ll look at establishing workplace habits to help us complete the tasks we need to get done. Here are a few tips that we feel could help you tackle September head-on!
- Practice intentional and productive communication. Keep your word choice brief and direct, avoiding unnecessary jargon or overly complex language. Practice emotional intelligence, nonverbal awareness, and active listening.
- Plan your day. Set clear, measurable goals and make a quick schedule before you start working.
- Be proactive. Send clear updates on your progress so your team and boss always know where projects stand.
- Always be open to expanding your horizons, getting out of your comfort zone, and trying new things.
Now that you’ve got a few tips from us, we hope you’re ready to tackle whatever this
